100 x 100m – 30 March 2025
Endurance and Camaraderie Shine at Sold-Out 100 x 100m Swim Event
Our annual 100 x 100m Swim Challenge made a splash once again, with all 60 spots filled for this popular endurance event open to both club members and the wider public.
Now in its fourth year since COVID, the event continues to grow in reputation and participation. Swimmers signed up to complete 100 repetitions of 100 metres, nominating a time cycle that determined their pace and lane allocation. The fastest lane completed the challenge in just over 3 hours, while the most relaxed pace saw swimmers finish just under the 5-hour mark.
The atmosphere on pool deck was one of determination, encouragement, and community spirit. Club members played a vital role throughout the day, supporting swimmers in the pool and providing refreshments to keep everyone fuelled and hydrated. Post-swim snacks and smiles rounded off what was a hugely successful and rewarding day.
We look forward to welcoming new and returning swimmers to next year’s challenge!

Roughies Go the Distance for MS: $11,000 Raised at Mega Swim
Our Roughy spirit was on full display at the recent MS Mega Swim, where our 24-strong team joined 21 other teams to swim continuously for 24 hours — all to raise vital funds for people living with multiple sclerosis.
Braving cold and wet conditions, our team pulled together in spectacular fashion, swimming an impressive 75.3 kilometres across the weekend, landing us in first place on the distance leaderboard!
Even more inspiring was the team’s fundraising effort, contributing nearly $11,000 to MS Australia and landing third place on the Top Fundraising Teams Leaderboard. Three of our team each raised over $1,000, with one member becoming the 5th highest individual fundraiser – an outstanding achievement.
But beyond the numbers, it was the atmosphere that truly made the weekend unforgettable. From the first splash on Friday night to the final laps on Saturday evening, the camaraderie, laughter, and unwavering support among teammates captured what makes the Roughies so special. This wasn’t just a fundraiser — it was a celebration of community, commitment, and team spirit.
Thank you to everyone who swam, donated, and cheered us on.
