Who We Are
Yarra Roughies are a masters swimming club based at Fitzroy Swimming Pool. We’ll help you get fitter and faster, and offer you plenty of opportunities to train, compete and get social with our friendly squad.
If you can swim 400m of freestyle comfortably, and cover at least 1km when you go to the pool, you’ve got what it takes to be a Roughie.
About Us
We run Yarra Roughies’ Squad Training sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at Fitzroy Pool, and we are affiliated with Masters Swimming Australia. We are a friendly club of swimmers for fitness, pool competitions and open water events.
Our mascot is the Roughy – a brightly coloured fish that can live for 150 years. Like us, it lives in the deep water and enjoys a good life.
Our Committee
We’re run by volunteers, dedicated swimmers that train at Fitzroy pool. Just like our members, the Yarra Roughies committee swim to keep fit and compete, as well as get stuck into breakfasts on the poolside and year-round brunches.
- Toby L, President
- Brad R, Secretary
- Jim M, Treasurer
- Jacqui H, Registrar
- Heidi W, General Rep
Our committee members are elected each year at our annual general meeting. If you have some time to give and would like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you.
