Masters Swimming Victoria

If you would like to compete in Masters pool competitions you are required to join Masters Swimming Victoria (MSV) which allows you to compete in Masters Swimming events all around Australia.

Membership of the Yarra Roughies does not include membership of Masters Swimming Victoria – this is an additional, optional cost.

MSV Membership Benefits

Membership of Masters Swimming Victoria provides you with many additional benefits over and above Yarra Roughies Club membership:

• Access to Sanctioned Events: You can enter MSV and Masters Swimming Australia (MSA) competitions, including:
  • Pool meets and open water events.
  • State and national championships.

• Training & Recognition Programs: Access to member programs like:
  • Endurance 1000 – a program designed to encourage people to compete in distances from 400 metres to 60 minutes duration in a variety of strokes.
  • Million Metres – a program aiming to stimulate all members to strive for greater fitness, and recognises swimmer’s progressive milestones in steps of 1,000,000 metres.
  • 50 x 50m x 50 Weeks Challenge 2025 – simply swim one continuous swim of at least 2.5km, in any stroke or combination of laps per week for as many weeks as you can throughout 2025. Log your laps in the Million Metres App and you’re on your way to being recognised.

• Belong to a National Movement: Connection to the broader MSA community, with over 7,000 members nationwide.
  • Train with any Masters Swimming Club around Australia at their member rates – fantastic if you are travelling or on holidays.

• Personal Accident Insurance: While training or competing at sanctioned events.
  • MSV membership includes Personal Accident Insurance, providing coverage for injuries sustained while training or competing in sanctioned events. While our club is covered by Public Liability Insurance through our affiliation with MSV—protecting against liability claims at our events—this does not extend to personal injuries unless MSV membership is held.

 Masters Swimming Victoria Membership

2025 Masters Swimming Victoria Membership is $110.25, which includes both the MSV and MSA membership components, which are set by MSV and MSA respectively.

As the Yarra Roughies manage club membership separately, there is no club membership component included in the MSV membership price. However, you must be a financial member of the club before you can join MSV.
