End of Year Picnic
It felt like Christmas in July, but that did not deter us!
On Saturday 29 November our members gathered at Edinburgh Gardens for our End of Year Picnic. In spite of the weather it was a fabulous afternoon, and the picnic format meant everyone could mingle easily (often an issue with dinners). A huge thank you to our Social Committee (the Party Buoys) for making this happen!

2025 Club Awards
An important part of the afternoon was the 2025 club award presentations, with many worthy recipients as voted by members and coach! Congratulation to our key award recipients:
| Award | Recipient |
|---|---|
| The most dedicated Roughie – fittest, friendliest and most fun: | Christy B |
| The most improved swimmer: | Gloria N |
| The most consistent attendance: | Lisa C |
| The most smiley Roughie: | Jim M |
Of course, with the Party Buoys in charge, it was not unsuspected that a few “other” awards were included! These were all graciously accepted, however, in the spirit in which they were intended.
- The person most likely to join a Merfolk community
- The grumpiest Roughie
- The biggest Back-Chatter
